Why is Membership Only Open until end of May each Year?
This is to stop people possibly joining in say August after being placed loads then realising they could win a league with the potential points they have gained and therefore taking away a place or even the lead from someone registered at the beginning of the year
  • Dogs with no show results and therefore zero points will not receive any awards

All placings 1st to 6th that you list are automatically allocated points. Those with the highest points will receive awards at each year end.

You need to register as a member, then you log in to enter your results which appear in the Class & Area League

Your results also appear automatically in additional leagues you select (at extra cost) that may be applicable

  • Class & Area Leagues are the leagues everyone has within basic membership (any level of class is included in the membership)
  • Once a member you enter all of your own results (see How Do I Enter My Dogs Results' in this HELP section -  you can also email for a help sheet - or check the files on the facebook page - or click on the link in the FIRST 'Help' section of this page)
  • The more results you enter the more points you gain in the league
  • Ensure you enter dog placings in the correct class level (select class from a drop down list of options) and double check show date - email if you struggle at any time, I can amend entries for you
  • Basic membership cost includes all Class Leagues and your chosen Area League  but REMEMBER for an extra payment your dog can also be included into other 'Additional Leagues' - there should be at least one Additional League that your dog will be eligible for relevant to your dogs breed, type, rescue, size or Club categories - these are often the Leagues that consistency will gain you high places in
  • If you have a 'non collie' type the additional leagues could be important to join at registration stage - so ensure you click on any Additional League you want to join at registration stage - email obedleagues@aol.co.uk  add your dog(s) to any Leagues after you have registered
  • For example a Novice level rescue Spaniel could potentially be in eight leagues - Novice, Class A, Class B, Area, ABC, Spaniel, Rescue & Club

  • Your dogs placing results need to be entered by 31st December - no entries or amendments can be made after this date - you are totally responsible for entering your own results before 31st December.
  • Leagues will be begin again from 1st January each year - once closed no previous years late/forgotten results can be added
  • Awards will be either presented at early shows or posted out
  • Random checks will be made on entries - always double check you have put in the correct results - admin reserve the right to amend or delete any entries that do not comply with the League rules
  • Dogs with no show results and therefore zero points on 31st December each year will not receive any awards
When you first register or when you rejoin your dog will immediately show in any Additional League(s) you have joined with zero points - points and ranking will only appear once you start to enter show results for your dog

Class Leagues (all class levels are included in basic membership payment):
Your dog will NOT appear in the Class Leagues until you have entered a show result for a class where you have gained 1st to 6th
Each show result you enter will automatically go into the Class League you were placed in (always take care entering and double check your show result entries)
It is your responsibility to select the correct class level for the place your dog gained.  Random checks will be made.
You select the class via a drop down box option - ensure you select correctly
If you enter and are placed in 2 or 3 classes at a show, then you enter a result for each of those placings and you will then appear in the relevant Class Leagues plus any Additional Leagues you may have joined

If you need to contact Admin - please email obedleagues@aol.co.uk

If a dog gains lots of places (maybe never even winning 1st) then it is extremely possible that the dog could win or do very well in a Class League.
  • Each class placing (1st to 6th) is automatically given points
  • The points for each class level are added together to give a figure that goes into each Class League you are in.
  • In the Class Leagues your points relate to each class level, in all other leagues your points from ALL class levels are added together to get an overall total
  • The points for all additional leagues are gained via the Class Leagues.
  • Special Classes and YKC results are NOT part of these Leagues - only exception to this rule is IF it is any of the following classes held at CRUFTS (ie NOT any of the classes/qualifiers held through the year) : YKC Obedience classes, KCGC Special Pre-Beginner, Obreedience & Inter Regionals - results from which must be entered into the 'CRUFTS (All class Levels)' Class option
Points allocation (for any level of class) (as of 01/01/2017)
  • 1st Place  = 10
  • 2nd Place =  9
  • 3rd Place   = 8
  • 4th Place   = 7
  • 5th Place   = 6
  • 6th Place   = 5
Points/result entries are closed at the end of each December - no updates or amendments can be made after this.
Points are at zero at the beginning of each year.

If you think your points are incorrect on any league listing always email well BEFORE mid December so that they can be checked - random checks will be made on your results and your dog results will be viewable - admin will amend or delete any results that are not compliant with League rules - any such deletion is not up for discussion.

Example of Class League Points
Dog A (Novice) might win 3 Novice gaining 30 points and then moves out of Novice
Dog B (Novice) might gain 3 x 2nd places, plus a 3rd gaining 35 points
Therefore Dog B would go ahead of Dog A in the Novice Class League

Example of Area Leagues & Breed Rescue Leagues
Dog A gained 30 points in Novice and then gained places in Class A worth 20 points, total of classes = 50
Dog B gained 35 points in Novice and then gained places in Class A & B worth 14 points, total of classes = 49
Therefore in the additional leagues Dog A would be ahead of Dog B

Year End Totals - if points are equal
All those on equal points will receive the same award .. for example:  if there are 3 dogs in 4th position, they will all gain awards for 4th place.
Top Scoring Dog Award only:  If there is more than one dog in 1st position all will get 1st Place Certificates and Rosette - BUT the Perpetual Shield (to be held for one year only) (kindly donated in 2017 by Sharon Webley) will be given to the dog who has achieved the 1st Place score with the 'least' amount of placings over the year.

Dogs with no show results entered and therefore zero points will not receive any awards

If you need to contact Admin - please email obedleagues@aol.co.uk

Each League will have

  • Certificates and Rosette to at everyone placed in Class Leagues and at least the highest 20 places (more if membership subscription allows financially) to Area and Additional Leagues
  • Your placing in the Leagues will be as per the column headed 'Position'
  • Top Scoring Dog Award only:  If there is more than one dog in 1st position all will get 1st place Certificates and Rosettes - BUT the Perpetual Shield (to be held for one year only) (kindly donated in 2017 by Sharon Webley) will be given to the dog who has achieved the 1st place score with the 'least' amount of placings.
  • Each year League entries will only be accepted up to 30th December at the latest
  • Members must enter all their year results BEFORE 30th December - no results will be accepted after that date
  • Awards will be posted out mid February (or given out at local shows)  to all those achieving them
  • Dogs with no show results and therefore zero points will not receive any awards

If you need to contact Admin - please email obedleagues@aol.co.uk
